The layout’s width is most commonly preset and remains in one position on the screen regardless of the screen resolution. The static size seems to be most popular right now. Perhaps because it’s less time consuming to design.
Width can also be set by percentage or what might be called clapsible (expandable). The website always fills the screen at any resolution (example coming soon). There are some design challenges, but if well balanced, it can give a wonderful impact to your presentation.
